Bergenfield - Elvis was in the house! The Zonta Club of Teaneck-Bergenfield’s 2004 Fashion Show, The Fabulous Fifties, was the place to be on October 26th. A surprise visit from Elvis made the evening memorable for the 280 attendees at the Colonial Inn in Norwood.

Elvis, in the person of Ken Otto of Bergenfield (KOP Entertainment), sang several of his most famous songs. He also escorted the fashion show models who wore fashions from Talbots of Riverside Square.

The show chair, Nancy Patrissi, and co-chair, Val Heinrich, and the entire committee have worked over the past 6 months to make the show a success. All the members of the Zonta Club of Teaneck-Bergenfield volunteered prizes and, even more valuable, their time the evening of the fashion show. Over 140 silent auction prizes and over 30 large and super prizes were given away, not to mention 30 door prizes. Very few attendees went home without having won something.

The proceeds from the fashion show will go to local and international service projects. On a local level, the Center for Food Action, Spring House, the Bergen County Habitat for Humanity, Shelter Our Sisters and the Bergen County Rape Crisis Center are only some of the organizations that benefit from the club’s service monies.

The Zonta Club of Teaneck-Bergenfield is affiliated with Zonta International, a service organization dedicated to improving the status of women both locally and globally. Anyone interested in joining the Zonta Club of Teaneck-Bergenfield will find us on the web at zonta-teaberg.org.

We can also be reached at Post Office Box 5217, Bergenfield, NJ 07621. Ken Otto can be contacted at 201-244-5660.
