Bergenfield – Members and guests of the Zonta Club of Teaneck-Bergenfield met on December 21st for the annual holiday party at Gatsby’s in Cresskill. Traditionally, long-time member Bea James reads “T’was the Night Before Christmas” as all in attendance take part in a round robin gift swap. This year was no different. Bea James is the most senior member of the club with 45 plus years to her credit.

January’s meeting will highlight a program to honor Amelia Earhart. Traditionally, Zonta honors Amelia Earhart during the month of January to commemorate her record flight from Hawaii to California. Amelia Earhart was a member of Zonta International before she was lost in the Pacific in 1937. Since 1938, Zonta International has awarded annual graduate fellowships in aerospace-related sciences and engineering. Over 1000 scholarships have been awarded totaling 5.6 million dollars. The program will take place during the monthly meeting of the Zonta Club of Teaneck-Bergenfield on January 18th at Gatsby’s Restaurant in Cresskill. Everyone is welcome. If you wish to attend, please contact Amelia Earhart Chair, Karen Nicodemus, 201-385-0812, or Public Relations Chair, Nancy Patrissi, 201-385-9244.

The Zonta Club of Teaneck-Bergenfield is a local chapter of Zonta International whose mission is to improve the status of women both locally and globally. Membership consists of women and men in business and the professions.
