Zonta
Rose Day on 8 March
For
decades a yellow rose (symbol of fellowship) has been the
symbol of Zonta International. For the third year,
Zonta Rose Day will be celebrated on 8 March, which coincides
with International Women's Day. All Zontians worldwide
are encouraged to publicly distribute yellow roses or
items bearing the image of yellow roses, accompanied by Zonta
information, in whatever manner is appropriate in their
countries and areas. The objective is to increase the
visibility
of Zonta, to promote recognition of International Women'
s Day and issues affecting women. Zonta Rose Day will
also promote support for local and international service
projects,
and help build a sense of unity and commitment of our
mission through shared activity on this day. Zontians united
in
a common goal! Perhaps inspired by one or more of the
following ideas, you, your club, area or district will celebrate
Zonta Rose Day this year by:
Holding a luncheon/ dinner with an outstanding woman speaker
inviting other service clubs and potential members to attend
Sponsoring a performance of a renowned musician
Planting a yellow rose bush or a bed of roses in a public
garden
Creating some unique yellow rose items to sell (leather
hand bags, postcards, note cards pens, paperweights, letter
openers, etc.)

of International Women's Day
Selling yellow roses (fresh or silk) or yellow rose bushes
Distributing yellow rose bookmarks

to others by presenting them with a yellow rose
